Free Orange Tech Support for Innovation Labs Teams

Access to Orange Mobile hotspots

The Orange mobile hotspots are installed on real vehicles used for public transportation in Alba Iulia and Cluj-Napoca and have a real time monitoring platform, accessible through an API available upon request towards Orange team. They enable applications based on always connected mobile environment sensors or IP cameras, real-time positioning, speed and direction of buses, and communication between operators, passengers, local authorities and citizens.

Examples of applications that can be developed:

Access to Orange Fixed Hotspots

You can use the Orange fixed hotspots APIs to enhance and personalize your applications by leveraging the capabilities of the different components of the Orange Localization Solution. The APIs are a set of REST endpoints exposed by the Cisco Mobility Services Engine (MSE), the platform that helps organizations increase visibility into the network, customize location-based services, and strengthen security.

Using the APIs, you can develop application solutions to enable people and their devices to interact more effectively through real-time intelligence gathered from your Wi-Fi network ( location, temperature, availability of a user, or mobile device asset).

Orange API for City Analytics

City Analytics is a service that collects data from the fixed Wi-Fi Access Points and analyzes it in order to offer information about how people are moving across the city. The collected data is anonymous and focuses on specifics such as demographics and how the public interacts with the city on a big scale. For Alba Iulia city, this service can show the administration which are the main paths and directions people are taking through the city (e.g. from High schools to bus stations or parks) or which is the most crowded timeframe in the citadel.

Through this service, data may be obtained from the Cisco CMX-based retail analytics system that exposes traffic and visitor-behavioral data through a collection of industry-standard metrics: total traffic, unique, retuned and new visitors, bounced visits, average dwell time, visits frequency, cross-shopping analysis, and others.

The access procedure is very simple and can be done simply through a token-based authentication to a REST API, regardless of the development environment or the used operating system. The API is available only in the Orange network for designing an MVP prototype and is aimed to be used only for test purposes. For product extension to other national or international networks or non-testing purposes, the API availability is subject to commercial terms.

Access to Environmental Data from uRADMonitor devices

uRADMonitor is a global environment monitoring network. The devices are equipped with 8 sensors that measure physical and chemical air pollutants. This information is then uploaded into the cloud and can be used in order to understand better the pollution factors and to find solutions to them.

uRADMonitor devices are installed on 15 vehicles used for public transportation and offer access to a real time monitoring platform, accessible through an API available upon request towards Orange team. They enable you to gather information about temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, CO2, VOC, PM2.5 and formaldehyde. Combined with information from the public transportation system, such as positioning, speed and direction, anyone can create a heat map of the city.

Access to information from e-alba iulia platform

e- alba iulia is an application designed to improve the experience of an user that visits the city of Alba Iulia. Through the application, one can receive different information about the Citadel, museums, bus schedules, etc., as well as vouchers for different promotions. This application can also be used for “Electronic Direct Democracy” by the authorities in order to receive feedback on different proposals under public debate.

The e-alba iulia platform is a proximity powered application that keeps you connected with the city using 225 beacons around Alba Iulia. Through APIs available upon request towards Orange team, everyone can gather information about promotional offers, social media activity generated by the promotional offers and statistics about users (age, sex, average time in a location).

Access to information from Civic Alert platform

Civic Alert is the simplest and the most rapid way to send notifications to public authorities (city hall, urban administration, environment administration, etc.). Using a simple mobile application, users can send notifications in less than 30 seconds following three simple steps: Photo, Location, Description. Citizens’ notifications will be sent to public authorities in order to be resolved. Using Civic Alert API, anyone can have access to notifications sent by citizens in order to make reports and analytics using this information. Also, using this API, any stakeholder can insert new notifications into the system based on different factors (e.g.: a mobile application that senses road potholes and automatically send a notification to authorities using Civic Alert).

Access to LoRaWAN public lighting infrastructure

Public Lighting infrastructure can be controlled using LoRaWAN network provided by Orange. In order to improve the system, access to API controlling the lamps will be provided. Through this API, you can manage the schedule of the lamps, on/off commands and also control the dimming of the lamps. Adding more sensors to the LoRaWAN network you can use information about the weather, PIR sensors and more, in order to make better predictions on when the lamps need to turn on or off. Also, stakeholders can take real statistics from Alba Iulia City, where this system is implemented.

Orange API for interconnecting with the SMS Gateway

An automated service for sending and receiving Application2Person messages that allows the SMS communication and real time reports for all stages of message delivery. Through this service, SMS messages can be sent using short numbers to any mobile number (MSISDN) belonging to all four Romanian GSM operators. The sending procedure is very simple and can be done through a SOAP Client, developed from own resources by the beneficiary, regardless of the development environment or the used operating system. The SMS API is available only in the Orange network for designing an MVP prototype and is aimed to be used for test purposes only. For product extension to other national or international networks or non-testing purposes, the SMS API availability is subject to commercial terms. Smart Territories Dashboard

Using the APIs provided in the smart city architecture, everyone can develop a dashboard which will show information about the city, based on different user levels. One could integrate new APIs into the platform in order to supply new needs to the city or different stakeholders.

From this platform, a city manager can see the city’s problems and take the necessary actions in order to resolve them, a citizen can visualize different city parameters, and an interested stakeholder can collect specific data and correlate it with other data in order to provide a better service or to manage sensors/actuators from different parts of the city.

ORTEC Cloud Services

Vehicle route optimization

ORTEC Cloud Services for Vehicle Routing enables optimization of your resources. Direct access to proven optimization technology hosted on a first class Platform: Microsoft Azure. The perfect add-on to your own systems: flexible, scalable and an always up-to-date environment for transparent, fair pricing.

The Route Optimization API is part of the ORTEC Cloud Services made available through the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. ORTEC Cloud Services allow the integration of optimization intelligence into own or third party software, exposing key functionalities of ORTEC software as REST-like resources via HTTP.

ORTEC Route Optimization API functions like a web service whose role is to optimize route(s) based on input data (e.g. orders), taking into account a wide array of constraints. It can be further enhanced through its integration with a map application or ORTEC’s map dedicated services to display the optimized route(s) visually and/or to obtain turn-by-turn driving directions. Map services are, at the date of publishing this document, still under development. Please contact your ORTEC consultant to check the status.

The main goal of this service is to allow enterprise and/or on-demand route scheduling and optimization embedded in third party or in-house applications. The functionalities in the Route Optimization API have been modelled to address multiple use cases across many industries. Among others, the service can support route scheduling and optimization for the following sectors: • Distribution and Retail • Courier, Express and Parcel • Field services (visits) • Transports For each business, there are suitable combinations of (required and optional) features available. As a cloud consumer, you can leverage the ORTEC Route Optimization API to the advantage of your organization within desktop, web-based or mobile applications. Examples of successful integrations include plugging the Route Optimization API into business navigation suites, handhelds, back-end systems, or even an MS Excel spreadsheet.

Geocoding

The Geocoding service takes as input textual strings describing a location and attempts to output the best matches in a digital format suitable for handling such data within computer applications, respectively as latitude/longitude coordinates. The service also returns the address details associated to the identified matches.

To ensure that valid matches are generated as accurately as possible, ORTEC Geocoding service relies on the following descriptive references for returning coordinates and address details: country, state, county, city, district, street, postal code, house number. ‘Country’ is the largest possible area that can be queried in a request, therefore the results returned in a single request are limited to a single country.
