Larvatron transforms food waste and byproducts into nutritious larvae for animal feed, through a robotic ecosystem that operates effortlessly and without energy consumption. One third of the food produced worldwide is turned into garbage, amounting to 2.2 million tons of food wasted in Romania alone and 1.3 billion tons wasted at global scale, per year. At the same time, livestock food relies heavily on fish, depleting ocean and sea stocks. Our ecosystem relies on the Internet of Things to transform food waste into larvae, fed to animals to produce human food sustainably.
